1. Robert Devereux; ~1090 to 1130

Robert Devereux was the second son of Gilbert Devereux and grandson of William Devereus and Hawise de Lacy. He recieved religious and secular training, and became a precentor and canon in Rouen Cathedral. He inherited the position of chaplain and Treasurer of Normandy when his eldest brother, William, resigned. Robert held lands in Brecon, Bredwardine, Kington, and Cornwall. He granted a burgess on the foundation charter of Bernard de Neufmarche for the Brecon Priory. He married an unknown woman, and had a son: Reginald Devereux.

2. Reginald Devereux, ~1110 to after 1131 (son of Robert)

In October 1130 Reginald Devereux paid 10 and fifty marks of silver to claim his father's lands in Cornwall. He married an unknown woman and had a son: Robert Devereux.

3. Robert Devereux; ~1135 to aft 1175 (son of Reginald) 

Robert Devereux held lands in Brecon, Bredwardine, and Kington. He married an unknown woman about 1160, and had children: Robert Devereux (~1165), Roger Devereux (~1167), Eustace Devereux (~1169), and Walter Devereux (~1171). 

4a. Robert Devereux; ~1165 to ~ 1217 (son of Robert)

Robert Devereux married a woman named Mathilda, and was referenced in a plea of William de Braose in the area of Bredwardine in 1200.

4b. Roger Devereux; ~1167 to before 1226 (son of Robert)

Roger Devereux was among the witnesses to the return of King Richard from captivity in 1194. He held fees in Bredwardine and Brecon in 1212. Roger Devereux was listed as having been responsable for service in Bredwardine in 1242. In 1215 he rose with Giles de Braose against the King. He married Agnes de Baskerville, daughter of Ralph de Baskerville, and after Roger's death prior to 1226 she married a second time to Peter of Aldermanston.

4c. Eustace Devereux; ~1169 to aft 1204 (son of Robert)

Eustace Devereux impleaded Herbert Waleran in Kington in 1204.

4d. Walter Devereux; ~1171 to aft 1220 (son of Robert)

Walter Devereux was noted to have a postponement of a legal case on 14 April 1208. He also was involved with a legal case involving a knight's fee in Bodenham with Stephen Devereux of Lyonshall on 5 March 1221.
